FULL MEMBERSHIP FEE $50.00
The membership fees that we solicit plays a vital role in the association's ability
to meet its daily management obligations and more importantly, it provides the association
with a cushion capable of responding to emerging needs that arise outside of our
budgeted, ongoing commitments.
Last year for example, we were able to repair the Melbourne bathrooms at the cost
of approximately $5,000 on four days notice just prior to the start of the fall
semester. This would not have been possible were it not for the membership fees
we collected prior to our July 2008 annual general meeting.
All newly paid members are rewarded with an alumni silk tie, a specially designed
hot or cold cup or a fortis cap.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP FEE $25.00
We encourage friends of Kingston College, spouses, girlfriends, supporters, past
faculity and staff to fill the ranks of our associate membership. Frankly, the College
needs all the help it can get. We are an all-boys school and we encourage
and seek all the female participation that we can get.

SPORTS PROGRAM
Sports more than any other event occurring at Kingston College unites our fraternity.
Those of my generation, the 1960's and 1970's believe that Champs is ours and we
must guard and protect that legacy by all legitimate means necessary. Unfortunately,
this same ownership cannot be applied to football. Actually it has been over
twenty years since we have held the Manning Cup. Our summer football training program
is not adequately funded. The teams are often without gears and under-nourished.
This lack of commitment is reflected in their fall performance.
The College is also the defending champions at basketball and table tennis and we
compete in cricket, hockey, rugby, swimming, tennis, volleyball. The guys
who play chess and the defending champion School Challenge team may also want you
to believe that they are athletes.

NUTRITION PROGRAM
The Nutrition Program currently provides warm meals twice daily, breakfast and lunch
to financially challenged students on the Melbourne Campus. Currently just
under 100 students benefit daily from this project. It is our hope that your
additional support will allow us to extend the program to our senior campus at Clovelley.
The Social Service Building intent to house participants of our nutrition program
was finally completed after a prolonged five year construction period. Your
contribution and those of old boys in Florida primarily, Atlanta, Toronto and Jamaica
made this possible.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
KCOBA USA Inc. currently fund scholarships for indigent students attending the College
and rewards the academically gifted at prize-giving. We support young graduates
attending UWI, UTECH and in the United States for an amount exceeding $15,000 annually.
Note that the freshman class at UWI's Mona Campus for 2008/09 consisted of forty
two KC students. Several qualified and accepted students were forced to defer
admission because of severe financial hardship.

SCIENCE LABS
Our students continue to beat the odds with their overall excellent performance
in the sciences, despite the inadequate and outdated science facilities. Donations
made to this department merely maintains the minimum standards under which this
department operates. What is required a major fund-rasing drive geared toward
improving the labs, not only the equipments, but the plant itself, including, electricity
and water supply.

KINGSTON COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT TRUST FUND
The Trust Fund was the brain-child of old boy and Grace Kennedy Director Bruce Rickards. His initial contribution of over $1M Ja. launched the Fund on April 16th. 1986. His vision was that when the fund reached $20 Million, the interest would be used to assist the school, principally to undertake development and maintenance work on the plant. Assistance would also be provided in other areas such as sports and the general development of the student and teaching bodies.
The Trust Fund may have lost its way because the vision was not effectively transferred before Bruce died. It is important that Trust Fund Board Members be in contact with the School. It is also important that those with vested interest in the Fund, KCOB's on only contribute to it but provide input as to the areas of development the Fund should be utilized for.
To date the major contributors have been KC Development Cess, The Pickman Foundation Inc., Queens NY, Bruce Richards and KCOB Basil L. Anderson. I encourage each old boy to contribute to The Trust Fund. Your donation will be well managed and it will help secure the College's future.

CHAPEL
Our crowning achievement for 2008 was the restoration of St. Augustine Chapel.
Under the direction and leadership of Pat McIntosh, former Chairman: Building Committee,
work began her in Summer of 2008. By Sunday, November 23rd 2008 the work was
completed and the rededication/patronage festival/family service was hosted by Rt.
Rev. Alfred C. Reid, Lord Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Island.
The Chapel
is once again being frequently utilized for choral music, funerals and weddings.
Old boys from this chapter must be singled-out for their generous response
to this appear and the work of Errol Lecky in coordinating much of the soliciation
must be recognized. We will continue to require your assistance to maintain
the improvements of 2008.
